Ilham Aliyev Laid Flowers to the AHP Monument in a Quiet Lane
Today, President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Republic Day, May 28, laid flowers to the monument of the Azerbaijan National Republic (ANR: 1918-1920).
This humble monument is set in a quiet side street near the walls of the fortress of Baku. Despite anniversary - 95th anniversary of the establishment of AHP, authorities note that date without celebrations.
Such an attitude reflects the official ideological line of the regime, that all good things in the history of Azerbaijan started only when Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev headed - that is, beginning from 1993.
The merits of the founders of the AHP are deliberately downplayed, despite the fact that the current Republic of Azerbaijan, proclaimed in 1991 declared itself the successor to the AHP. -06D-
