Ilham Aliyev: People Divided into Friends and Collaborators
President Ilham Aliyev said that the vast majority of the people are crazy about his policies and actively support them. He said this at the Police Academy on July 2.
"There are attempts to involve Azerbaijan on its side, and to a certain extent affect our policies. The main thing is that the Azerbaijani government conducts and will conduct its own independent policy. The basis of this policy is the independent will of the Azerbaijani people, while at the same time, the prevailing stability in Azerbaijan and the socio-political order further increases our strength.
We will follow the path of independence. Today independent Azerbaijan is a stabilizing factor for the region. We play a stabilizing role and, of course, no force will be able to turn us away from independent policy. We have no problems with the internal situation. Between the people and the power there is unity. All of our initiatives are supported by the people. And those who want to oppose us, once again showed their true face. They show once again that they are not aware of what independence is. They show once again that they are living with the slave mentality. Slave mentality is that they are in constant search of "big brother". They want all the time to drop to someone's feet. They are constantly on their knees before others and beg for help. So, here it is the political picture of today's Azerbaijan: on the one hand - the Azeri authorities, an independent policy worthy of the nation, the policy of independence from anyone, on the other hand - anti-national, corrupt, treacherous elements and groups - I can not even name them a force - ready to embark on any path for the sake of their own personal interests. Such is today's political palette.
Of course, the Azerbaijani people are wise people and clearly see everything. They see who and where is leading the country, and who and where wants to lead the country. Azerbaijan has more than 20 years as an independent state. There cannot be greater happiness. We will defend our freedom at any cost, to ensure the successful development of Azerbaijan.
The police also play a very large role in this case. I am sure that the police officers, as always, will show loyalty to the state and the nation," said Aliyev. -02D-
