Ilham Aliyev Pleased with Relations with USA
Baku / 10.07.18 / Turan: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev expressed satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and the US during the administration of Donald Trump. "I can say that in the first half of this year our ties with the United States of America rose to a new level," he said the day before at a government meeting dedicated to the results of socio-economic development in the first half of the year.
At the same time, he pointed out that only in the first half of the year Trump sent him three messages. "In April-May, the US President, Mr. Donald Trump, addressed me three letters. The messages sent on the occasion of elections, then the 100th anniversary of the Democratic Republic and the official opening of the Southern Gas Corridor demonstrate the attitude and respect of the American government towards Azerbaijan. Very valuable words were expressed in the messages, and we are glad that today the US-Azerbaijan relations reflect their true essence," Aliyev said.
He expressed confidence that in the coming years these ties will be further strengthened.
Aliyev also pointed to the continuation of work on the agreement with the European Union. "Azerbaijan has documents on strategic partnership with one-third of the European Union member states. Of course, this shows that Azerbaijan is a country of strategic importance for Europe," the head of Azerbaijan noted. -06D--
