Baku/20.09.23/Turan: On September 20, President Ilham Aliyev received a BP delegation headed by Helge Lund, Chairman of the Management Board.
The meeting was also attended by BP Vice President of Production Gordon Birrell and former CEO John Brown, who participated in the signing of the "Contract of the Century" on September 20, 1994.
Aliyev stressed the special role of this document for the economic development of the country in the difficult historical period of Azerbaijan.
During the conversation, it was stressed that BP is also interested in future projects in the oil, gas and energy sectors in Azerbaijan.
The parties also discussed new investment opportunities, in particular, in the field of renewable energy. ---06B---

On Monday, the Baku Appeals Court considered the appeal of Talysh researcher Iqbal Abilov against the extension of his detention for another four months. The defense argued that the decision to extend Abilov's detention was unjustified, lawyer Fariz Namazly told reporters.
