Ilham Aliyev Receives European Parliament Delegation
Baku / 07.05.18 / Turan: President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation from the European Parliament headed by the chairman of the European Union - Azerbaijan Parliamentary Cooperation Committee, member of the Group of European Conservatives and Reformers, British MP Sayyad Kerim.
During the meeting, Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan has already signed or adopted a document on strategic partnership with one third of the EU member states
He stressed that the European Union is Azerbaijan's largest trading partner. At the same time, Aliyev noted the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of Europe, which is constantly growing.
Kerim for his part noted with satisfaction that during the last two years the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union has been developing in a positive and constructive manner. He noted that the negotiations between the European Union and Azerbaijan, which began in 2017 under a new partnership agreement, are continuing successfully.
