Ilham Aliyev to Visit Turkmenistan
Baku / 01.02.18 / Turan: Questions on the upcoming visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Turkmenistan were discussed by Foreign Ministers of the two countries, Elmar Mammadyarov and Rashid Meredov, at their meeting in Ashgabat yesterday.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the parties noted the need to intensify the work of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Azerbaijani commission on trade and economic cooperation in the next meeting of the commission in Ashgabat.
They expressed mutual interest in developing relations in energy and transport, creating mechanisms for providing logistics, and developing effective mechanisms for car-ferry and rail-ferry services.
The parties also discussed key issues of cooperation between the two countries in the Caspian Sea, the implementation of the decisions taken at previous summits, and outlined priority areas for cooperation in the future.
They also noted mutual interest in the further development of interstate dialogue in such important spheres as science, culture, education and sport. -06D--
