Incident on Armenian-Azerbaijani border - provocation by Yerevan, I.Aliyev
Baku/12.04.23/Turan: The April 11 armed incident on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border was a deliberate provocation by Armenia. Ilham Aliyev said this during his meeting with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Buyar Osmani.
Aliyev pointed out that the experience of Northern Macedonia and the Balkans as a whole in implementing the concept of ethnic reconciliation, re-integration and creation of an inclusive society can be interesting for the South Caucasus as well.
Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, he pointed to the continuation of the peace process between Baku and Yerevan.
Azerbaijan proposed direct meetings with representatives of the Armenians of the Karabakh region on their re-integration, and the appointment of a special envoy by Azerbaijan.
At the same time talks are being held with Yerevan on the normalisation of relations and the signing of peace treaty.
In turn, Osmani informed about the contribution that the OSCE can make in the process of de-mining and solution of other humanitarian problems.
Aliyev also pointed to the possibility of implementing practical cooperation projects within the framework of the Mid-Corridor concept.
The meeting also focused on cooperation between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia in transport, energy and other topics of mutual interest. -06В-
