Lachin region border incident is provocation by Armenia
Baku/12.04.23/Turan: Azerbaijan suggests Armenia return to the negotiating table. This was stated by Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov on Wednesday.
Speaking at a joint press conference with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of North Macedonia Osmani, Bayramov said that he had informed the OSCE about his efforts to normalize relations with Yerevan and conclude a peace treaty.
He said contacts between Baku and Yerevan had been broken off in December 2022. Instead of engaging in direct negotiations Armenia has resorted to military provocations, he said and accused Yerevan of interfering in the "re-integration of Karabakh Armenians".
As for the April 11 armed incident on the border of the Lachin region, Bayramov accused Armenia of disrupting the process of returning the Azerbaijani region to the liberated Lachin region.
He called on Yerevan to refrain from such steps. "Armenia must avoid such irresponsible and dangerous steps, for the consequences will be very serious, as they were the day before," he said. -0-
