Iranian initiative on Karabakh discussed in Moscow
Baku / 29.10.20 / Turan: On Thursday, negotiations between the Special Envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran Abbas Arakchi on the settlement of the Karabakh conflict with the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Rodenko began in Moscow.
At the meeting, Arakchi presented Iran's initiative to resolve this conflict, IRNA reports.
According to the same source, at the meeting, Abbas Arakchi said that, "Tehran's plan is based on humanitarian principles and the demands of the parties."
It is impossible to understand anything from this message. In addition, earlier in Baku, the Iranian side stated that the plan provides for a solution to the conflict within the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Therefore, the claim that the plan takes into account the "requirements of the parties" looks frivolous. As you know, the Armenian side insists on the recognition of the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh, which excludes the integrity of Azerbaijan.
Arakchi is touring four countries where he will present the Iranian initiative. He has already been to Baku and met with President Ilham Aliyev. After Moscow, he will visit Ankara and Yerevan. -02D-
