Israel Appoints Arab Ambassador to Azerbaijan
Baku / 16.11.18 / Turan: The Israeli Foreign Ministry appointed Arab Christian George Dick a new ambassador to Azerbaijan. This became known on Friday, November 16, the Israeli website Vesti.co.il reported.
Dick, a career diplomat who has been working in the Foreign Ministry system for more than 10 years, will be the first Arab to be entrusted with leading the foreign diplomatic mission of the Jewish state.
He was also the first and still the only Arab Christian to be accepted into the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
George Dick was born to a family of Christian Arabs in Jaffa. He is an expert in international law. He was educated in Israel, and then interned in the United States. He worked in diplomatic missions in Norway and Nigeria.
The Foreign Ministry says that George Dick is a talented diplomat and express hope that he will be able to best represent Israel"s interests in Azerbaijan. In Baku, Dick will replace the final cadence of Dan Stav. -02D-
