J.Bayramov stressed Azerbaijan's commitment to the peaceful settlement of relations with Armenia
Baku/28.09.23/Turan: In a diplomatic rendezvous on September 28, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov welcomed Yuri Kim, the acting assistant to the United States Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, who was visiting Azerbaijan. The meeting proved pivotal as it delved into crucial regional matters post-Azerbaijan's counter-terrorism operations and explored humanitarian aid concerns.
Bayramov underscored the significance of eradicating the illegal Armenian Armed Forces, which pose the primary regional threat, for fostering peace and stability. The Azerbaijani side provided comprehensive insights into the disarmament process, elucidating measures taken to address the needs of Armenian residents and the ongoing negotiations aimed at the reintegration of said residents.
Furthermore, the Baku vehemently refuted unfounded allegations against Azerbaijan, firmly asserting that the country does not pose any threat to Armenian residents. In an effort to dispel doubts, Azerbaijan expressed its readiness to facilitate a visit by United Nations authorities, led by the UN Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, to the Karabakh region. This visit would serve as tangible evidence of Azerbaijan's commitment to transparency and peace.
Bayramov lamented the persistent obstructionism exhibited by the Armenian side, despite Azerbaijan's concerted efforts and international collaboration. He emphasized Azerbaijan's unwavering commitment to a peaceful resolution with Armenia, grounded in principles of territorial integrity and respect for sovereignty.
In addition to these pressing matters, the diplomatic exchange also encompassed discussions on various topics of mutual interest between the two nations.--0-
