John Kerry Congratulates Azerbaijan on Republic Day
US Secretary of State John Kerry congratulated the Azerbaijani people on the Republic Day celebrated on 28 May.
"On behalf of President Obama and the American people I congratulate the Azerbaijani people on the Republic Day - 28 May," Kerry stated on the State Department website.
The letter noted the important role of Azerbaijan as an energy supplier to the European market. And the United States fully supports Azerbaijan's efforts to increase energy diversification in the region.
As pointed out by Kerry, the US remains committed to promoting the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
In addition, Washington appreciates the cooperation with the government of Azerbaijan in the field of security, the fight against violent extremism and other transnational crimes.
