Karen Ghazaryan sentenced to 20 years in prison
Baku / 27.02.19 / Turan: The Court for Military Crimes in the city of Ganja convicted a citizen of Armenia Karen Ghazaryan, who is found guilty of preparing sabotage and terrorist attacks on the territory of Azerbaijan; he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. The trial was held behind closed doors, according to sources in the judiciary.
Karen Ghazaryan born in 1984 was captured in July 2018 in the Gazakh region of Azerbaijan. The Armenian side denied that he was a military man, claiming that he was mentally ill.
According to Armenians, he is a resident of the village of Berdavan, which is not far from the border with Azerbaijan.
Earlier, Baku offered Yerevan to exchange three captured Armenians held in Azerbaijan for three Azerbaijanis held in Armenia and Karabakh. However, the Armenian side called this proposal unrealistic. -02D-
