Large Group of Senior Officers Awarded Orders Zafar, Karabakh
Baku / 10.12.20 / Turan: On December 9, the head of state issued a decree on awarding 33 senior officers of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, as well as heads of power structures with the Zafar (Victory) Order.
Among the awardees, the Minister of Defense, a number of his deputies and commanders of units and subunits, officers, heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Foreign Intelligence Service, and State Security Service. Three officers were awarded posthumously.
This order was established at the end of the Second Karabakh War and is awarded for the planning and implementation of military operations.
By the same decree, 196 generals, officers, warrant officers, sergeants and privates were awarded the Karabakh order. Of these, 47 people were awarded posthumously.
This order was also established after the end of the Second Karabakh War and is awarded for heroism displayed in the performance of combat missions.
Among the awarded are commanders of formations, military units and subunits. -02D-

On December 26, the British Embassy in Baku lowered its flag in mourning for the victims of the AZAL plane crash in Aktau. "In connection with the Day of Mourning in Azerbaijan, the British Embassy in Baku has lowered the national flag in memory of the victims of the plane crash," reads the post on the embassy's social media account on platform X.

The Kazakh side has published information about the nationality of 67 people, including 5 crew members of the AZAL plane that crashed on December 25 in Aktau. Among them, 38 people died, and 29 survived.
