Lawyer denies reports of confiscation of property of G.Akhmedova
Information on confiscation of the property of the former deputy Gular Akhmedova, arrested last week on charges of fraud, was not true, Turan was told by Eldar Gadimi, the lawyer of Gular Akhmedova.
"Reports on seizure of Gular Akhmedova’s property are lies and rumors. Do not believe the rumors," said the lawyer. According to him, under the law of the decision on confiscation of the property will only be accepted by the court.
When asked about the health of Akhmedova, the lawyer said he would meet with his client in prison on February 19, and only them it will be possible to provide any information on the matter.
In addition, in the coming days an appeal for the arrest Akhmedova will be considered.
According to local media, Akhmedova’s businesses and real estate is secretly confiscated.
Akhmedova was arrested due to scandalous videos around so-called "bargaining for a deputy mandate" , and is charged under two articles of the Criminal Code: 178.3.2 (fraud, embezzlement, breach of trust) and 307.2 (deliberate concealment of the crime).
