Lawyer F.Namazly: Leyla Yunus attacked in jail
Contained in the Baku prison N 1 in Kurdakhani, the Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy (IPD) Leyla Yunus was physically attacked by her cellmate. However, despite this, very same Yunus was reprimanded. Turan was told by the lawyer Fariz Namazly.
September 8 he visited Yunus in jail N 1.
The human rights activist told him about the attack on her on September 6 by the cellmate Nuria Huseynova repeatedly judged.
So Huseynova for no reason began to attack the human rights activist. She insulted and threatened Yunus and throw things at her. Yunus knocked on the door and asked for help. Five minutes later the door opened and they asked what was going on. Yunus told them about the attack on her and asked for a meeting with the leadership, but the guards ignored the human rights activist.
After 15 minutes, wardens came again and said that Yunus will be received by the management on Monday.
Once the wardens came into the cell, Huseynova behaved quietly, but after they left, she continued to terrorize Leyla Yunus.
Later Yunus was received by three officers, who took her report on the incident.
Although Yunus requested drugs, they did not give them.
On Sunday, Yunus was told that due to the fact that she "unreasonably" knocked at the door of the cell, she was declared a reprimand. They demanded she should sign this paper. But Yunus refused to sign it, saying that she was attacked and therefore called for help, the lawyer Namazly said.
Earlier, Yunus expressed alarm over the impending provocations against her in order to put her in the box.
Yunus and her husband Arif are accused of treason and a number of economic crimes. Amnesty International has considered them "prisoners of conscience". -06D--
