Baku/31.05.23/Turan: Today, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Geoffrey Pyatt- US Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources. Pyatt noted the importance of holding an Energy Week in Baku, the website of the head of state. He highly appreciated Azerbaijan's leading role in ensuring Europe's energy security.
Aliyev, for his part, expressed gratitude for the continued support of the US government for Azerbaijan's initiatives in the energy sector.
Azerbaijan has been actively cooperating with the United States in the energy sector for many years and successfully implements large-scale joint projects. In this regard, Aliyev emphasized the support provided by the US government to the TAP gas pipeline project.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on new projects implemented by Baku in the field of renewable energy.
The topic of Azerbaijan's creation of sustainable transit and transport opportunities for energy and non-energy products within the Middle Corridor was also touched upon. ---06B---
