Mehdiyev said what is good and what is bad
The head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev on Friday held a meeting with the heads of the media loyal to the authorities and the press services of state agencies, which focused on information security.
According to APA, Mehdiyev noted that the success of Azerbaijan, strengthening the country's role in global politics and in the region is of concern in Armenia and the Armenian Diaspora communities representing the interests of the Armenian lobby.
In his view, these circles together with the internal destructive groups are trying to break the social and political stability in Azerbaijan and discredit the Azerbaijani government.
However, as Mehdiyev said, anti-Azerbaijani circles and their "accomplices" in the country "will not be able to undermine the will of the Azerbaijani authorities and take it out of the way of an independent political course, as well as strategic objectives."
Persons who go against national interests and violate the laws of the country, will be responsible to the fullest extent of the law, threatened Mehdiyev.
At the same time, he acknowledged shortcomings in the work of government agencies and information of some of the media during an escalation of tension on the Armenian-Azerbaijani front line in early August.
Thus, some of the media, and in particular Internet resources distinguished with unprofessional work and violation of the laws, and government agencies responsible for the transmission of information were not at the proper level to fulfill their functions.
In particular, Mehdiyev reported on spread speculations and false information about the situation at the front, information about the deployment of military units and the movements of military equipment, artificially high number of deaths, mass rumors causing confusion among the population and the public frontline countries, information leaks, serving the interests of the enemy.
Mehdiyev warned that the information relating to the military sphere, foreign policy and economic interests, intelligence, counterintelligence and operational-search activity is a state secret and its disclosure gives rise to the corresponding responsibility.
He noted that all attempts directed against the constitutional order, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the independence of Azerbaijan, as well as against the national interests will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.
Mehdiyev at the same time urged the media to widely and objectively cover the successful policy pursued by the President of Azerbaijan.
In conclusion Mehdiyev gave department heads of government agencies responsible for the provision of information relevant instructions and recommendations.
