Mijatovic Meets with Group of Journalists
Baku / 09.07.19 / Turan: On July 9, the Council of Europe's Commissioner for Human Rights, Dunya Mijatovic, who is in Baku, met with a group of journalists and media experts.
As a participant of the meeting, Khadija Ismayilova, told Turan, the current situation in the media field of Azerbaijan and facts of persecution of journalists were discussed at the meeting. In particular, recent cases of accusations of journalists of state treason, bringing them to responsibility for publications in social networks, blocking websites, creating an army of trolls that attack the critical press and journalists, etc., were noted.
In turn, Mijatovich promised to raise these questions before the authorities of Azerbaijan. -05D-
