MP: Price Rise Unreasonable
Baku / 10.11.18 / Turan: The recent rise in food prices has been unreasonable lately, member of the parliamentary economic policy committee Vahid Ahmedov told Turan.
He noted that in the countries - trading partners of Azerbaijan, national currencies fell sharply, so the goods imported from there should not be more expensive.
Ahmedov believes that prices are artificially inflated as a result of speculative cartel agreements of individual entrepreneurs.
At the same time, among the reasons contributing to the increase in prices for chicken and eggs, there is a decree of the Cabinet of Ministers on the introduction of an additional duty in the amount of 100 manat for every 1000 hens and eggs.
Prices are also affected by the lack of a Competition Code. Its adoption is envisaged by the "roadmap" of economic reforms, approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
In general, prices should not grow, since taxes are not raised, but on the contrary, they will be reduced in the future. At the same time, due to the devaluation of national currencies in Russia, Iran and Turkey, imports become cheaper. -05D06--
