NAR Also Holds Elections to Supreme Majlis
On Sunday, in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR), simultaneously with the elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan, elections are also held to the regional parliament.
The fight for 45 seats in the Supreme Majlis of NAR is conducted by 135 candidates. 44 of which are nominees of the ruling party New Azerbaijan, 46 are from various opposition parties, and 45 are non-party, according to the CEC NAR.
According to local civil society activists, there is no election atmosphere in the autonomy and no campaigning and especially debate was conducted. The real opposition candidates are practically absent.
268 463 voters have a right to attend the voting.
