OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs on their visit to Armenia
Baku / 14.06.18 / Turan: The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Igor Popov (RF), Stefan Visconti (France) and Andrew Chaufer (USA) made a statement following the June 12-14 visit to Armenia. Together with the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Andrzej Kasprzyk, they held meetings with Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Defense Minister David Tonoyan, and the Armenian President Armen Sargsyan.
The co-chairs and officials of Armenia reviewed the course of the talks and discussed the next steps to move the process forward, including at the forthcoming ministerial meeting.
They also exchanged views on the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the line of contact, stressing "the importance of maintaining a constructive atmosphere," the statement of the mediators goes on.
The Co-Chairs reaffirmed their readiness to assist the parties, to find a peaceful solution to the conflict on the basis of the basic principles of the Helsinki Final Act, including the non-use of force or the threat of force, territorial integrity, and equality and the right to self-determination.
Armenian officials expressed their support for the work of the OSCE Minsk Group and personal representative and expressed their readiness to continue to work fruitfully under the auspices of the co-chairs, the statement said further. This was the first visit of the co-chairs to Yerevan after the change of power in Armenia in May. -06D-

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals heard a complaint regarding the extension of the detention of former diplomat Emin Ibrahimov. During the hearing, the investigator requested that the complaint be rejected, while Ibrahimov's lawyer, Aghil Laidj, pointed out the lack of grounds for keeping Ibrahimov in custody.
