OSCE Minsk Group Comes to Region
The OSCE Minsk Group will visit the region on October 26-28. This was announced by Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov at the press conference on October 20. He affirmed that in New York City at the talks with the mediators, discussing the preparation of the meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"We have to wait for nomination of proposals by the Co-chairs," the Minister said. At present, there are two options. First, if there is a meeting of the Presidents, they themselves determine the agenda.
The second option is discussion around the proposals already put forward by the Presidents. According to Mammadyarov, the question is still open.
Asked whether Mammadyarov will take part in the OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting in Belgrade on December 2, the Minister replied that in all probability the Azerbaijani side will take part at the summit.
Recall that recently the relations between Azerbaijan and the OSCE have remained tense. Azerbaijan closed the OSCE Office in Baku. Azerbaijani authorities proposed to limit the number of observers of the OSCE ODIHR at the parliamentary elections on November 1, after which the organization canceled all observation mission. -03D06-

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
