Pashinyan: Attempts to involve Armenia in military escalation are completely unacceptable
Baku/19.09.23/Turan: In response to the counter-terrorist operation in the former Nagorno-Karabakh, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan firmly stated that attempts to involve Armenia in military escalation are utterly unacceptable. Speaking during a live broadcast on a social network, Pashinyan conveyed that while the situation along Armenia's borders remains relatively stable, Azerbaijan's primary objective appears to be involving Armenia in military operations.
Pashinyan underscored that Azerbaijani media and authorities have disseminated reports of Azerbaijani Armed Forces engaging units of the Armenian Armed Forces. These reports have been echoed by several international partners, calling for an immediate ceasefire between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
He acknowledged the existence of both external and internal forces aiming to embroil Armenia in large-scale military actions and stressed that Armenia views such attempts as unacceptable.
Despite recognizing the emotional strain of the situation, Pashinyan assured that the Armenian authorities will maintain control over the process, with a steadfast commitment to safeguarding the statehood of Armenia. He noted that various calls, including those potentially advocating for a coup, have been made, necessitating a measured response within the framework of the law.
In these challenging circumstances, Pashinyan urged the people of Armenia to approach the situation with sobriety and a level head. He cautioned against reckless and impulsive actions, emphasizing the need for a composed response.
"At this moment, we should avoid any hasty, rash, or adventurous actions," Pashinyan concluded.--0--
