Pashinyan Decides to Prepare Azerbaijans People for Peace?
Baku / 12.03.19 / Turan: Armenian media continue to publish the details of today's joint meeting of the Security Council of Armenia and the so-called security council of Nagorno-Karabakh with a speech by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
In addition to uncommon statements already published, Pashinyan also stated that the Armenian authorities should take part in the preparation of Azerbaijani society for peace. According to him, the preparation of nations for peace cannot be a question of one of the governments involved in the negotiations; this is joint work.
"I mean, for example, that the preparation of Azerbaijani society for peace should be carried out not only by the authorities of Azerbaijan, but also with the participation of the authorities of Armenia," the Premier said.
According to him, the realization of this made him speak in the National Assembly of Armenia in the autumn of 2018 with an unprecedented statement that the solution of the conflict should be also acceptable to the people of Azerbaijan.
"Unfortunately, we don"t see equivalent statements or steps by the President of Azerbaijan. Despite this, I am ready to continue the dialogue not only with the President, but also with the people of Azerbaijan. Because I am sure that the people of Azerbaijan are as peaceful as the Armenian people, as the people of Artsakh," Sputnik Armenia quotes the Premier.
Regarding the participation of Karabakh in the negotiation process, Pashinyan said that "it was and remains one of the most important issues of our discussions with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group." -02D-
