Pashinyan is twisting his own words – MFA
Baku/28.09.23/Turan: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan rejected and condemned the statement of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about the alleged "ethnic cleansing" of Armenians in Karabakh.
"We strongly condemn and reject the statement of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on September 28, 2023 about the alleged "ethnic cleansing" of the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. The Prime Minister of Armenia not only departs from his statement of September 21 about the absence of a threat to local Armenians from Azerbaijan, but also with this disturbing narrative seeks to disrupt Baku's efforts to provide humanitarian assistance and the reintegration process, and also undermines the possible prospects for peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia," the comment of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry. The Armenian leadership does not notice how the state bodies of Azerbaijan promptly started measures of humanitarian support and satisfaction of the urgent needs of the Armenian residents of Karabakh.
"Prime Minister Pashinyan is well aware that the current departure of the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan is their personal and individual decision, and it has nothing to do with forced resettlement," the message continues.
If any groups of Armenian residents do not want to live and obey the legislation of Azerbaijan, then Baku cannot force them to do so, the commentary further notes.
“But we urge Armenians not to leave their place of residence and become part of multinational Azerbaijan. In order to establish peace and security in the region, Armenia should stop obstructing the reintegration of local Armenians and focus on the successful completion of the negotiation process for the conclusion of a peace treaty based on the territorial integrity and sovereignty of both countries," the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said in conclusion. ---06B---
