Patriarch of All Russia called on religious leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia to prepare peoples for peace
Baku/13.10.21/Turan: Following the results of the trilateral meeting of the spiritual leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia on October 13, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia made a statement in which he thanked Garegin II and Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade for their willingness to meet.
“There is no other future for the Azerbaijani and Armenian peoples, except for cohabitation. Today, it is especially important to restore people's trust in each other, to learn again to perceive a neighbor with respect and readiness for mutual assistance,” the statement said.
“Religious leaders are called upon to use their authority to create and maintain an atmosphere of good neighborliness between religions and peoples. We call to clarify the fate of the missing, to facilitate the process of releasing prisoners of war and to prevent the unauthorized use of weapons that threaten the lives of civilians.
It is necessary in the future to strive by all means to avoid the language of hatred, to refrain from calls for military action in the conflict zone. We call on young people not to succumb to the spirit of aggression and radicalism, the statement says. A day earlier, Patriarch Kirill had a separate meeting with Pashazade. -02D-
