Pedro Agramunt Pleased with Government of Azerbaijan
PACE continues "constructive political dialogue" with the government of Azerbaijan to implement the country's international obligations in the field of democracy and human rights. This was stated by the President of PACE Pedro Agramunt at the opening of the summer session of the Assembly in Strasbourg today.
He welcomed the recent release of the journalist Khadija Ismayilova from prison in Azerbaijan.
Agramunt noted that a number of political prisoners have been released this year.
"This is a very good initiative, which shows the willingness of the Government of Azerbaijan for cooperation," said Agramunt. -16D-
