President of Belarus Visits Azerbaijan
On November 20-21, Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan, according to the official website of the Belarusian leader. He will have one-on-one talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and talks with the participation of delegations. The talks will likely end in signing several bilateral documents on cooperation in various fields.
Azerbaijan is an important trade partner for Belarus. Between 2006 and 2012, trade turnover between the two countries increased six-fold, and in the last year amounted to $223.3 million. From January to September of this year, trade turnover reached $216 million, with Belarusian exports increasing by 1.6 times. One of the most important areas of bilateral cooperation is equipment assembly. Azerbaijan assembles Belarusian tractors, trucks, municipal vehicles, optical equipment, fixtures, and lifts. - 16B –
