Rally in support of G.Ibrahimov and B.Mamedova in Belgium
At the initiative of the “International Human Rights Association” established in Belgium by the Azerbaijani political émigrés the Institute "Sint Ursula" was held an event to protect the rights of youth activists Bayram Mammadov and Giyas Ibrahimov.
According to Turan vice president of the Association Hajar Abbasov, Vice-Chancellor Petra Van Den Broeck, speaking to the students, told about the case of Mammadov and Ibragimov, who were convicted in Azerbaijan for political reasons.
These young men were sentenced to 10 years on charges of drugs, but the true reason is the graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev, Vice Rector said.
University students dressed in T-shirts with the image of activists sang a song dedicated to Mammadov and Ibrahimov. According to Abbasov, the organization intends to defend the action to protect other political prisoners.—06B--
