Rally in Support of Political Prisoners in Azerbaijan at OSCE Conference
On Monday in the capital of Poland was opened OSCE conference on human dimension issues (HDIM) 2015. This is the largest annual European conference on human rights and democracy. It is held by the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
It is a platform for the 57 states - OSCE members, partners, civil society organizations, international organizations and institutions of the OSCE, which monitored the implementation of agreements on human dimension issues are discussed related issues, exchange experience and make recommendations.
As the correspondent of Turan reported, in the beginning of the meeting the foreign participants were faced with a delegation from Azerbaijan in T-shirts with portraits of prisoners in Azerbaijan, human rights activists and journalists. Most of the members of the delegation from Baku were pro-government activists of civil society: Azer Hasrat, Shahid Ahmadov, and Sahib Mammadov. -01V-

On 6 February, the Baku Court of Appeal presided over by Faig Ganiyev rejected an appeal by Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan Ali Kerimli against a verdict of the Nasimi district court, which found him guilty under Article 147.1 (slander) and fined him AZN 1,500.

Requests from Turan agency to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan to confirm this information went unanswered.
