R.Ibrahimbayov requests for support from colleagues in the National Council

Rustam Ibrahimbeyov, nominated for presidency chairman of the National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF), sent an appeal to the members of this body calling to show persistence in his registration by the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan.

In this regard, Ibrahimbayov also is taking the necessary steps to comply with legal requirements for a presidential candidate. In particular, it concerns the refusal of the Russian citizenship, preserved from the Soviet Union.

"The NC and the democratic public of Azerbaijan will have to exercise the utmost persistence and will, so that to my candidacy was registered as there is no legitimate reason not to register it. But even in case of failure, there should be no other candidates from the real democratic forces, and the National Council should continue actively fight against lawlessness of  authorities, to make them to respect Constitution, the will of the people of Azerbaijan, and the international obligations of the country," writes Ibrahimbayov. 

He considers "this approach preferable and may be the only correct in order to win the election."                From the opposition entering  the National Council, the nominees put forward a leader of the Classic Popular Front, Mirmahmud Miralioglu and leader of the "Musavat", Isa Gambar.—06D-
