Russia and Azerbaijan will strengthen cooperation in the Caspian Sea, Shoigu
Azerbaijan and Russia will strengthen security cooperation in the Caspian Sea, said Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with the head of the military department of Azerbaijan Zakir Hasanov in Moscow on Wednesday.
"We proceed from the fact that Azerbaijan today is an outpost of security in the Caspian Sea, and here we need to work even more efficiently," quoted Shoigu press service of the Defense Ministry.
According to Shoigu, such cooperation significantly affects the stability of the region. He also said Russia and Azerbaijan intend to expand military cooperation, including in the training of Azerbaijani servicemen in military educational institutions of the Russian Federation, as well as in the fight against international terrorism.
In turn, Zakir Hasanov said that Azerbaijan is ready to hold the Cup of the Caspian Sea in the framework of the Army International Games with the support of the Russian Federation. Earlier it was reported that a number of competitions Army-2017, presumably, will be held abroad the Russian Federation - in China, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. -02D-
