Russia supports principles of settlement proposed by Baku
Baku/21.04.22/Turan: Russian Foreign Minister's representative for normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia Igor Khovayev will visit Baku in the nearest future. His mission is to assist Azerbaijan and Armenia in preparing a peace agreement, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said at a briefing on Wednesday.
"The special representative has actively engaged in the work. He has already held useful consultations in Yerevan. His trip to Baku in the nearest future has been agreed upon.
Note that the basis for the dialogue is the "Basic principles for the establishment of interstate relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia" proposed by Azerbaijan and Yerevan's constructive response to those proposals.
Russia's mediation efforts are based on the irreplaceable experience of elaborating statements by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 9, 2020, January 11 and November 26, 2021 that helped stop the bloodshed in the region and opened up real prospects for solving the complex humanitarian tasks of restoration of transport communications and delimitation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border," she said. -02D-
