Russia will strengthen its military base in Armenia
Moscow /29.10.19 / Turan: The combat potential of the 102nd Russian military base deployed in Armenia will almost double after equipping with new and modernized weapons and military equipment, reported the commander of the 102nd base, Colonel Nikolai Martynyuk, Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu, who on Tuesday inspected the Russian base stationed in Gyumri, Interfax reports.
* 102nd has two garrisons - in Gyumri and Yerevan. It was deployed in 1995. Currently, 4 thousand people serve there.
The base is equipped with S-300V anti-aircraft missile systems, MiG-29 fighters, Mi-24P and Mi-8MT helicopters.
The agreement on the functioning the base was concluded for 49 years (until 2044). -02D-
