Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers held consultations on the eve of the 44-day war anniversary
Baku/02.11.21/Turan: Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers Sergey Lavrov and Ararat Mirzoyan in a telephone conversation on November 1 discussed the implementation of the November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 agreements of the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia and Russia in view of the approaching anniversary of the November trilateral document on the complete ceasefire and all military actions in the Karabakh conflict zone.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the Ministers paid special attention to the furtherance in solving urgent humanitarian problems, especially the return of detainees, the transfer of maps of minefields and the preservation of cultural and religious heritage. "They synchronized their watches on the removal of tensions on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, the unblocking of all transport and economic ties in the South Caucasus, and the creation of favorable atmosphere for regional cooperation. The sides stressed the importance of continuing efforts towards the political and diplomatic settlement of the border incidents between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
The current aspects of the Russian-Armenian cooperation were touched upon with due regard for the forthcoming bilateral contacts at various levels. Progressive development of allied cooperation was registered.
Also, the Foreign Ministers discussed some international and regional issues.
Note that the talks took place on the eve of the anniversary of the November 9-10 trilateral statement on cease-fire that ended a 44-day war between Azerbaijan and Armenia. There are voices in Armenia against signing any documents with Azerbaijan, particularly the beginning of the demarcation and delimitation processes, at the planned Putin-Aliyev-Pashinyan meeting on the occasion of the prevailment of peace in the conflict zone and the liberation of the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.-0-
