Russian Foreign Ministry on Lavrov’s Visit and Karabakh Settlement
Moscow / 02.12.19 / Turan: December 2-3, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan.
During the negotiations in Baku, it is planned to discuss key issues of bilateral cooperation. A substantive exchange of views will take place on international and regional issues, including the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement (NKS). It is planned to sign the Consultation Plan for the foreign affairs agencies of Russia and Azerbaijan for 2020, the Russian Foreign Ministry commented.
“Russia continues to play an active role in mediation efforts to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Assistance to the parties in the NKS is among the Russian foreign policy priorities and is in the focus of attention of the President of Russia. We presume that the conflict can be resolved exclusively by political and diplomatic means, through dialogue between the parties. We will continue to contribute to reaching a settlement both in the composition of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group on the NKS and in national quality, taking into account our close relations with Azerbaijan and Armenia,” the commentary said.-02D-
