Ryszard Czanecki has no mandate to speak on behave of European Parliament
The co-chairs of the European Parliament’s Democracy support and election coordination group Elmar Brok (EPP, DE) and Linda McAvan (S&D, UK) made the following statement on the role of the European Parliament in the forthcoming referendum on constitution in Azerbaijan.
“On 26 September 2016, the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan will vote on modifications to their Constitution.
The European Parliament will not observe this electoral process, and consequently will not pronounce itself on the process nor on the results that will be announced by the relevant authorities.
The recent statement of Mr. Ryszard Czarnecki (ECR, PL), according to whom “the results of the Referendum will be a true democratic expression of the will of the Azerbaijani people” cannot therefore represent in any way the view of the European Parliament.
In any case, Mr Czarnecki has no mandate to speak on Azerbaijan issues in the name of the European Parliament”.
Recall that polish deputy Czarnecki visited Baku last week and met president Ilham Aliyev. At the briefing he said journalists that his phrase mentioned above.-02D-

Moscow wants Armenia and Azerbaijan developing a peace treaty that would signify a long-term settlement of their relations, the Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mikhail Galuzin, told in an interview with Izvestiya. Earlier, officials from Armenia and Azerbaijan stated that the peace treaty was almost 90% agreed upon.

Military sailors from Azerbaijan and Iran discussed issues of cooperation. As part of the multinational naval exercises "AMAN-25" held in the Pakistani city of Karachi, a meeting took place between the First Deputy Commander of the Azerbaijani Navy, Teymur Murshudov, and the Commander of the Iranian Navy, Shahram Irani.
