Samad Seyidov: We will leave Euronest
The head of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE Samad Seyidov has offered to freeze the activities of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PA "Euronest" ( deputies of the European Parliament and the countries of the "Eastern Partnership" - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) are represented in it. Seyidov justified his proposal by the need "to reveal corruption in the European Parliament." He said about it at the meeting of the Milli Majlis on Monday for making a response to the European Parliament resolution on 10 September. Seyidov condemned the European Parliament, and particularly, members of the alliance "Free Europe" for cooperation with the separatists of Nagorno-Karabakh. "Today, the Azerbaijani leadership without the OSCE Minsk Group and the European Parliament is able to liberate the occupied territories. That's what they care about," Seyidov said. The meeting of the Milli Majlis continues. -02D-

It has been 35 years since the harrowing night of January 19-20, 1990, when a 35,000-strong army corps, following orders from the Soviet leadership, forcefully entered Baku. This invasive act resulted in numerous civilian casualties, marking a tragic chapter in the struggle for Azerbaijani independence. The Soviet army's incursion into Baku was orchestrated to quell the burgeoning national liberation movement, particularly to thwart the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for March 1990.
