Session of UNESCO World Heritage Committee
Baku / 07/01/19 / Turan: The 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, which opened on 30 June, continued its work in Baku on July 1. It is attended by members of the governments of UNESCO countries, international organizations, experts in the field of architecture and the environment.
Participants in the session will consider dozens of proposals for inscribing natural and cultural monuments on the World Heritage List. The session will last until July 10.
UNESCO Director General Audrey Azule, located in Baku, was received by the head of state Ilham Aliyev. She also visited the Gobustan National Reserve. -02D-

The Azerbaijani parliament has approved the formation of new municipalities through the consolidation of existing ones, aiming to enhance administrative efficiency and local governance. The move, based on amendments to the law on "Joint Activities, Mergers, Separation, and Dissolution of Municipalities," was sanctioned under Article 95 of the Constitution.
