Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war on February 24, 2022, up until July 2024, more than 1.5 million citizens from these countries have visited Azerbaijan
According to the annual report from the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan on the number of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in the country, a total of 1,535,889 citizens from Russia and Ukraine have visited Azerbaijan.
The State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported that from March to December 2022, 397,000 Russian citizens and 24,609 Ukrainian citizens entered the country.
In 2023, the number of Russian arrivals rose to 624,753, while 31,267 Ukrainian citizens arrived during the same period.
From January to July 2024, 438,066 Russians and 20,189 Ukrainians visited Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani Migration Service did not respond to a request from the Turan news agency regarding how many of these Russians and Ukrainians obtained the right to permanent or temporary residence and the right to work.
