The Court cannot present any evidence against Leyla and Arif Yunus, lawyers
The proposal to condemn the prosecutor Arif Yunusov to nine years is absolutely groundless, said his lawyer Afghan Mamedov, commenting on today's statement by the Attorney Farid Nagiyev.
In an interview with reporters, he said that there was nothing new in the final speech of the state prosecutor , and the prosecutor, in fact, repeated the indictment.
The prosecutor did not explain what the crime of Arif Yunus. So, accusing him of fraud, the investigation did not identify the object of crime - whose funds appropriated Yunus, whom he deceived abusing the trust?
The whole essence of the charge was that Yunus transferred the money from one account to another account.
Another incriminated crime was that Arif's brother living abroad, gave him money to buy an apartment. "Where is the crime?" said the lawyer. He also noted that none of the 24 witnesses testified against Yunus.
Ramiz Mammadov , the lawyer of Leyla Yunus, also expressed his disagreement with the statement of the prosecutor.
Protection will detail its position in the reply. According to him, the defense asked 10 days for the preparation of the final speech, however, the court allowed only three days.
Lawyers for the defendants intend to seek acquittal of their clients.
Today, the prosecutor asked to sentence Leyla Yunus to 11 years in prison, and Arif Yunus to nine years in prison.—03C06--
