Baku/06.03.23/Turan: The European Union and the Russian Foreign Ministry called on Baku and Yerevan to prevent the destabilization of the situation in the region in connection with the March 5 clash in Karabakh.
"We call on all parties concerned to exercise restraint in order to prevent any further actions that could further undermine regional stability and jeopardize the peace process. The European Union regrets yesterday's outbreak of violence, and calls for a thorough investigation of all its circumstances," the press secretary of the EU Foreign Policy Service Peter Stano said in a statement.
In turn, the press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated Moscow's concern about the aggravation of tensions in Karabakh, called on Yerevan and Baku to be restrained.

On March 5, an armed incident occurred, which caused human casualties on both the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides," Zakharova said.
"We urge the parties to exercise restraint and take steps to de-escalate the situation and comply with the agreements of November 2020 on a complete cease-fire and all military operations," the commentary says. ---02D---
