Baku/23.03.23, Turan: The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan has imposed a temporary ban on the import of pepper from Iran by a number of suppliers in connection with the detection of pesticides in vegetables.

In particular, pesticide residues were detected on pepper shipments delivered by Iranian exporters: Bazargani Amanj Sahragard, Carbendazim, Azin Pishro Azarin, Etoxazole, Rahim Moradian, Vahid Rezael Pour, Rasool Soleymanpour, as well as by Azerbaijani importers: Green Fruit-22 MMC, “Dry Fruits" MMC, “Şaiqoğlu" MMC and an individual Huseynov Shakhveren.

Due to the identified quality violations, the import of products by these companies is temporarily prohibited, the report says.

On May 19, the Agency has already imposed a similar ban on the import of pepper and kiwi from Iran to 17 companies. The reason for this was the presence of dangerous agricultural pests in the supplied vegetables and fruits - "Brown wrinkling virus" (Tobamovirus) and "Mulberry shield" (Pseudaulacaspis pentagona). ---05B06---
