The German Foreign Minister urged to settle the situation in Karabakh through peaceful negotiations
Baku/19.09.23/Turan: German Foreign Minister Anna Lena Beer Bock has called upon Azerbaijan to halt its military operations in the former Nagorno-Karabakh and return to diplomatic negotiations. Berbock made this appeal while attending the high-level week of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
She emphasized, "Azerbaijan must immediately stop the shelling and return to the negotiating table." Berbock underscored that the foremost objective is the protection of Nagorno-Karabakh's civilian population. She also noted that this responsibility extends to the Russian soldiers stationed in the region.
Minister Berbock asserted that lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia can only be achieved through dialogue. She highlighted the German government's support for negotiations conducted under the leadership of the European Union, which she described as more relevant than ever in light of the recent escalation.
