The judicial investigation of the case of a group of participants of "Karabakh action" is over.
Baku/02.06.21/Turan: Today, the trial of a group of activists arrested for a street demonstration in support of the army on July 14-15, 2020, continued at the Baku Court of Appeal under the chairmanship of judge Agamala Gafarov of Sabail district.
In total, there are 36 defendants in this case who are divided into three groups of 12 persons.
All the accused are at large under police supervision.
Today's trial announced the end of the judicial investigation in the case of a group of members of the Party of People's Front of Azerbaijan (PPFA) - Mammad Ibrahim, Fuad Gahramanli, Ayaz Maharramli and Bakhtiar Imanov, as well as two members of the Moslem Unity Movement and six others.
However, before the court was presented with data on phone calls on the day of the action of Fuad Gahramanli and Mammad Ibrahim.
It turned out that on the day of the action, Ibrahim phoned his son to call him home. Since the young man did not receive calls, Ibrahim phoned his son's friends to get in touch with him.
Gahramanli had two calls that day.
"One of the callers was questioned at a previous court hearing to confirm that I told him not to go to the rally. Another call was of a private nature. Thus, it became clear that on the day of the rally I did not speak to anyone who had been at the rally. After that I asked the prosecutor to submit, at least, one proof that I was not just an organizer, but somehow related to the action. The state prosecutor remained silent," Gahramanli told the Turan news agency.
After that the judicial investigation was over. The next trial is scheduled for June 9 to hear final statements of the state prosecutor and the accused.
