Azerbaijani Defense Ministry accuses Armenia of another military provocation in Karabakh
Baku/05.03.23/Turan: The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan accused Armenia of another military provocation in Karabakh, which resulted in losses on both sides.
As stated in the message of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, at the disposal of the department
operational information was received about the use of the Khankendi-Khalfali-Turshsu dirt road for transportation from Armenia to the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, for the supply of weapons, ammunition personnel.
On the morning of March 5, to verify the information, units of the Azerbaijani armed forces tried to stop the vehicles carrying out military transportation. However, fire was opened on the Azerbaijani servicemen, as a result of the skirmish, there are dead and wounded on both sides, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said further.
The Azerbaijani side brings to the attention of the Russian peacekeepers that "the points of the tripartite statement must be implemented unconditionally and in full."
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry emphasizes that "the only road that can be used between Armenia and the Karabakh region" is the Khankendi-Lachin highway.
"Once again, we remind the command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent that the implementation of military and other transportation on other routes is categorically unacceptable," the Azerbaijani military department said further.
The press release recalls that "the facts of transportation from Armenia to the Karabakh economic region of ammunition, mines, fuel and manpower for military purposes were previously established."
“The incident that took place today once again testifies to the need for Azerbaijan to create an appropriate checkpoint on the Lachin-Khankendi road. The fact that Armenia is still carrying out military transportation to the Karabakh economic region of Azerbaijan is the ongoing aggression of this country against Azerbaijan and the policy of terror. All responsibility for the committed provocation lies with the military-political leadership of Armenia,” the press release of the Azerbaijani military department concludes.—06B-
