The Ministry of Taxes extended the period of investigation of Turans activities
Baku / 17.08.17 / Turan: The Department for Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes under the Ministry of Taxes canceled the decision to conduct an audit of the activities of the Turan news agency for the period from 2014 to 2016 on the seventh of August. The Department has now decided to conduct a criminal investigation for the period from October 1, 2010 to August 1, 2017.
The decision on this was presented today to the director of the agency Mehman Aliyev.
At the same time, no explanations have been provided on the extension of the investigation period.
It is only indicated that this decision was made on the basis of the official report of the Department of Preliminary Investigation of Tax Crimes under the Ministry of Taxes of August 16, 2017.
The tax authorities demanded that by 5 September the agency submit documentation on the financial and economic activities of the agency for the period from October 1, 2010 to August 1, 2017.
On August 16, representatives of the Department conducted a search in the office of Turan, withdrew financial documentation for the period from 2014-2016, a number of other documents and a computer of the accountant. Today, in the indicated department as a witness was interrogated the head of the economic news department of the agency Hafiz Babaly. Turan's lawyer Fuad Agayev called the new decision of the Department of Tax Crimes, as the previous one, unreasonable.
These decisions contradict each other and in both there is no justification for a tax investigation.
Moreover, according to the requirements of the legislation, taxes can be calculated, financial sanctions can be applied only for the last three years.
Agayev said that a change will be made in the claim Turan against the court of tax officials, or will be filed another lawsuit. -06B--
