The problem with political prisoners in Azerbaijan raised at the committee meeting of the OSCE PA
The Swedish parliamentarian Marie Norden during the discussions at the meeting of the OSCE PA Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs in Baku on June 29 raised the issue of political prisoners in the OSCE area.
She thus pointed to the relevance of this issue for Azerbaijan and urged the authorities to solve it.
Among the political prisoners in Azerbaijan she called in particular the REAL movement leader Ilgar Mamedov, the chief editor of the Khural newspaper Avaz Zeynalli and the head of the Election Monitoring and Democracy Studies Center (EMDSC) Anar Mammadli.
In turn, the head of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Mejlis Rabiyat Aslanova reiterated the position of the official Baku about the absence of political prisoners in Azerbaijan. -06c -
