The reason for the dismissal of the rector of BSU is a riot (updated)
Baku / 15.11.18 / Turan: A number of media outlets, without reference to the source, revealed the reasons for the unexpected dismissal of the rector of the Baku State University, Abel Maharramov.
In particular, it is alleged that being at an international conference in early November in Spain, Maharramov got drunk and made a riot in the hotel where the conference was held. He also started a fight with one of the deputies of the Milli Majlis - members of the delegation. It is also alleged that the plane by which members of the delegation flew, was detained for 2 hours due to the fact that smuggled wine belonging to Maharramov"s son, the Azerbaijani ambassador to Spain, was loaded into it.

Abel Maharramov dismissed from the post of rector of Baku State University (BSU)
Baku/15.11.18/Turan: By the presidential decree of November 15, Abel Maharramov was dismissed from the post of rector of Baku State University (BSU). The reasons for the dismissal is not reported. However, apparently, for Maharramov this decision was a complete surprise. So, the day before he held a meeting of the Scientific Council of the BSU, where he discussed the preparation of the 100th anniversary of the university, which will be celebrated in 2019. Maharramov was one of the most unpopular rectors in the history of BSU. He did not enjoy authority either among scholars or students, and had the reputation of a "business manager", which he was attached to when he was a university farm manager. Maharramov at the university all the time went with security. When he was at the university were introduced strict control over the activities of students. In 2005, he expelled several students from the university for participating in protests against the results of parliamentary elections. -06D--
